Gummy bears may seem like a random idea for a party theme but then, that's exactly the type of thing my niece would do. She would say, that's so random! -Kids these days!
So with a theme like gummy bears I had the awesome job of making the cake and cupcakes. This meant rainbow colours!
I made a row of gummy bears around the bottom of the cake and included candles of the same colour. On top of the cake is a little party scene with four gummy bears enjoying teeny tiny cupcakes.
Behind them are their houses with little (M&M) paths that lead to the table. Then I made my first ever bunting and decided to use fondant instead of material or paper for the flags.
It turned out exactly like I wanted it to, love it when that happens!
The kids loved it (so did the adults!) and when it was time to cut up the cake they were so excited to learn that it was multi coloured inside!
To accompany the great cake I made a batch of vanilla cupcakes with 1/4 C of rainbow chocolate sprinkles mixed in and iced them in brilliant rainbow colours to match the cupcake cases.
Cleo and her friends decided there was a gummy bear army around the cake and the leader of the army was the red cupcake on top of the cupcake tower.
Later in the night they staged a big battle with gummy bears, gummy sharks and other candies, when I returned it looked like gummy carnage with toothpicks through bears and sharks all over the table! That's my niece!
Happy birthday to the greatest (and most creative)niece I could ask for!

This is so cute I could die eating it. My face is melting just at the little detail you put on the gummi bears! They have their own hats, seats and cakes! SO GORGEOUS! Great job and I'm sure you felt very rewarded with the smiles you helped put on your daughter's face and all her friends faces.
