My First Wedding Cake!

Last week I had the honour of making a wedding cake for one of my best friends. I'll be honest with you, I was VERY scared about making it and I wouldn't usually do this unless it was for a close friend or relative. I have known Andrina for 16 years (WOW) and it was really nice to be part of her wedding!

Andrina and her (now) Husband, originally wanted a three tier cake with a lace stencil around the edge and roses on the top and sides. I tried out the stencil on her hens night and it didn't work very well so Andrina found another design she liked that I could do. I couldn't find the picture on the net so I can't tell you who originally designed the cake but if you know where this cake was from or who made it could you please let me know?

The top and bottom tiers were chocolate moist cake with chocolate buttercream filling and covered in milk chocolate ganache. The middle tier was vanilla cake with raspberry buttercream and covered in white chocolate ganache. I got to try piece of each cake after the wedding and they were both absolutely delicious! (If I do say so myself!)

I will post some more info on making this particular design, and also how to go about making a wedding cake or a cake for a special event. Hope you've enjoyed my first ever wedding cake!
