Farewell Cupcakes

Here are some cupcakes I made for a farewell morning tea we held at work for a work mate who was leaving. The cupcakes were vanilla with vanilla buttercream. I piped the icing using a 1M tip starting in the middle and working my way out, this makes it look like a rose. By the time I got into town after catching the bus with my cupcakes they were all messed up so I had to re-pipe most of them. Luckily I took lots of photos before!

I wanted my cupcakes to be kind of special so decided to make some fun cupcake toppers to make them stand out. These are super easy to do! I managed to find some pictures of my work mate and cut these into circles. I pasted these onto some scrapbook paper which I cut out using a scallop shaped cutter. I stuck a toothpick to the pictures using blu-tack and inserted these into the cupcakes. This is such a simple way to make plain cupcakes interesting and the star of the party (these ones were!) especially if you can get some funny or embarrassing photos on there! I also wrote Farewell Ryan in a few different languages too (as he knew French and his fiance is Japanese)

Extra icing especially for Ryan who loved buttercream!

  2. You're a dumbass - macarons and macaroons are two different things. Saw your idiotic post on highteawithdragons.com

    1. Haha! How does that make me a dumbass? I was surprised that a show about baking couldn't get the spelling right for French Macarons, they weren't Macaroons. I know the difference.
