Lydia Likes: Hot Days and Cool Nights

I've decided to start up a weekly feature called Lydia Likes, based around things I've seen either around the net or in real life that inspire me, make me smile and sometimes keep me sane (that's probably a bit of a stretch). In a world full of negativity, it's nice to have something positive to reflect on every now and then, I hope to see the bright things in my week and report back here to tell you all about it.

This week I've been so thankful for that one day off on Wednesday, thank goodness for Waitangi day! I'm also thankful that the crazy hot weather took a break and for a few days we got some cool nights. The weather has been fantastic for hanging washing (this is the excitement in my life right now) and on those days I get to spend outside with the kids at preschool, I'm loving the sun warming me up and giving me energy.

Lydia Likes of the Week:

Recipe: Loving these Crunchie Bar Cupcakes by High Tea With Dragons.

Music: Fall out Boy's comeback song, first time they've made music since their three year hiatus.

Movie: Mr S and I finally went to Life of Pi, should be called Life of CRY. Take tissues if you're going to see it, it's well worth it!

Blog: Loving Technicolor Kitchen, such great simple recipes, the blog posts are short and fun too!

Food: Enjoying tuna and Mediterranean salads salads at work (when I'm in the office).

    1. Thank you! Yes I really enjoyed it despite the crying. I don't usually let myself watch sad movies as a general rule but this one was a goodie!
Let me know how the book is!

    1. Thanks Gabriele! Oh do check out Technicolor, not sure if you follow my Pinterest but the other day I honestly spent like an hour pinning her recipes onto one of my pin boards (Recipes to Try -I think) they look so good!

  4. I love when blogger's share their fave things with their readers. It's one of my fave parts of Gala Darling's blog. So yep, awesome idea!

I'm definitely making those crunchie cupcakes this year!! Will have to make sure it's for an event like a party so I don't consume them all myself haha

Oh I know what you mean about the cupcakes, I'm thinking the exact same thing, gotta pick a time when I know they'll be out of the house...otherwise I'll be the size of a house haha!
